The Australian Museum School Science Eureka Prize is a short film competition that encourages students to communicate a scientifi concept in a way that is accessible and entertaining to the public while increasing their science knowledge. 

Entries close on Thursday 16 April at 7pm AEST.

In 2026, the theme is ‘patterns’. A video with helpful tips for choosing a topic can be found here. 

Finalists and students who are highly commended will be announced on Wednesday 29 July and winners will be announced at a special award ceremony on Thursday 3 September.

Prize money is divided equally between the winning student/s and their school, with the school receiving 50% of the prize money.

Representatives from the finalist teams will win a trip to Sydney for the Australian Museum Eureka Prizes Award Ceremony.
