The Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board’s Grassroots Grants program supports education-focused projects that help students and communities connect with their local environment.

Schools, early education providers and childcare centres are encouraged to apply for funding to support projects that build environmental knowledge, stewardship and care for local landscapes.

Grassroots Grants can be used to fund a range of activities including:

  • developing a bush tucker garden, greenhouse or demonstration paddock
  • hosting an excursion to a local wetland, national park or farm
  • paying for an expert speaker to present in-class
  • purchasing equipment or undertaking a project to solve a local environmental issue
  • taking students to an agricultural show, field day or research centre.

Funding is available across 3 tiers - $1 - $1,000, $1,001 - $10,000 and $10,001+.

Projects need to be completed by 30 June 2027.
