The Australian Science Teachers Association (ASTA), with support from the Australian Government, is offering grants of up to $500 to support schools in delivering STEM-related events and activities as part of National Science Week 2025.

This grant is available to all Australian schools from preschool to senior secondary level. Activities should align with the National Science Week vision and contribute to student engagement with science, technology, engineering, and maths.

Event Details

Activity Window: 13–21 August 2025 (National Science Week)
Applications Close: Midnight, Saturday 26 April 2025
Maximum Grant Amount: $500 per school
Eligibility: All Australian schools (Preschool to Year 12)

How to Apply

  1. Develop a creative, impactful idea that engages your students and/or school community in STEM.
  2. Submit an online application for a grant of up to $500.
  3. Host the activity during National Science Week.

Assessment Criteria

Applications will be assessed based on:

  1. Likely impact on student learning outcomes in STEM
  2. Contribution to ongoing STEM engagement
  3. Practicality and scope of the activity
  4. Involvement of parents, community, or neighbouring schools

Note: Transport, catering, teacher relief, and routine excursions or incursions will not be funded. Activities must occur during National Science Week.
