Honouring Dr. Jane Goodall’s 90th Birthday with ‘Forests of Hope’

Schools in South Australia have the opportunity to participate in the 2025 Riverland Precious Plants for Precious People Program. This year, in partnership with Forests of Hope, eligible schools can plant a ‘forest’ in recognition of Dr. Jane Goodall’s 90th birthday.

There are three ways for schools to get involved:

1. Classroom Session with Plants for Students

Date: Term 2, Week 2 (in the lead-up to Mother’s Day)
Duration: 45 minutes
Eligibility: Open to primary and secondary students

A 45-minute in-class session delivered by an Education Officer, focusing on threatened flora and fauna of the Riverland, with a special emphasis on regent parrots. Each student will receive a local native plant that provides food for regent parrots, along with a card to gift to a precious person.
