Brighton Primary School became a Science Active School for their commitment and dedication to Science Education, and their involvement with and support of SASTA.
Read about some of the ways they show they are a Science Active School.
- Brighton Primary School (BPS) is very proud to be a Science Active School with over 700 students given the opportunity to participate in the Oliphant Science Awards annually and staff members to attend SASTA Professional Development sessions.
- BPS currently participates in the Oliphant Science Awards consistently since 2017.
- The school has a focus on STEM Problem-Based Learning where individual projects are linked with local industry to solve real-world problems using inquiry based research. We follow the engineering design process to come to solutions and present these to our industry partners
- BPS hosts an annual Science Expo for parents and students to attend after school.
- Our Coordinator also has judged the Oliphant Science Awards in the Photography and Posters categories in the past.
