The Science Active School Program is a new initiative by SASTA to recognise and promote schools that show a high level of engagement in science education. The award is based on criteria published below. Schools need to have met the criteria during the previous school year. Examples of the criteria that would contribute to a school’s standing include (but are not limited to):• School currently holds SASTA Corporate membership• At least one SASTA Personal Member on staff• Attendance at a state/national event e.g., Annual, STEM, ECT conferences or workshops.• Presentation at a SASTA or ASTA State/National conference or workshop• Participation in Oliphant Science Awards Judging• Students from your school have submitted entries to Oliphant Science Awards or Mary Anning Art Prize.• Have had a submission printed in the SASTA Journal, blog or newsletter• SASTA Board or committee participation
