FREE Excursion: Building more than ships

BAE SYSTEMS Maritime Australia LOGO CMYK (1)

Building more than ships:

South Australia’s naval shipbuilding industry offers students a range of exciting career pathways and opportunities, in our own backyard.

BAE Systems Maritime Australia, the company responsible for designing and building the nine Hunter Class Frigates for the Royal Australian Navy, is developing a school engagement plan and has established a pilot program designed to grow collaboration between industry, schools and teachers.

The ultimate aim of the plan is to boost student’s career awareness and understanding of opportunities afforded by STEM skills and knowledge.

We therefore invite South Australian teachers to the Osborne Naval Shipyard to witness first-hand the opportunities on offer for their students and discuss how they can be involved in the pilot.

Teachers will also have access to the VR suite as an addition to the tour which allows a complete 3D viewing of the ship on a GIANT screen.
